Delete your Wdee account

This page explains how to permanently delete your Wdee account and its data, and what is deleted versus kept. It applies to both the Wdee rider app and the Wdee Captain (driver) app. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

1. Delete from inside the app (the fastest way)

You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from within the app:

  • Riders: open the Wdee app → the "Account" tab → scroll to the bottom → tap "Delete account" → confirm and verify your identity. Your account and data are erased immediately.
  • Captains: open the Wdee Captain app → "Settings" → "Delete account" → confirm.
  • If you have both a rider and a captain account on the same number, each is deleted separately from its own app — deleting one does not touch the other, which stays active.

2. Can’t open the app? Request deletion by email

If you can’t sign in to the app, send us a deletion request:

  • Email legal@wdeesudan.com with the subject "Delete my account".
  • Include the mobile number your account is registered with, so we can confirm the account is yours.
  • After we verify ownership, we complete the deletion within 30 days.

3. Before you can delete

To protect your money and your trips, the app will refuse deletion if:

  • You have a trip or shipment still in progress — finish or cancel it first.
  • Your wallet balance is not zero — spend or withdraw it first.
  • You are a captain with an outstanding commission balance or advance — settle it first.

The app shows you a clear message if any of these is blocking the deletion.

4. Data that is permanently deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently and irreversibly erase:

  • Your profile: name, mobile number, and profile photo.
  • Your trip and shipment history and saved places (rider side).
  • Your wallet and your saved settings and preferences.
  • For captains: verification (KYC) documents, vehicle photos, licence and registration.
  • Your login — you can no longer sign in once nothing of your account remains.

5. Data we keep, and for how long

A limited set of records is retained for a period, even after deletion, because the law requires it:

  • Financial transaction records (top-ups, fares, commission) — kept in a pseudonymised form (no longer linked to your name or identity), only as long as accounting, tax, and anti-fraud / anti-money-laundering law requires.
  • Payment-proof images tied to those transactions.
  • A minimal deletion record (role and timestamp) for compliance and fraud prevention.

These are retained only for as long as the law requires, then deleted. Everything else — your personal data — is erased the moment you delete your account, and any residual backups are purged within 90 days.
